Making The French Pay

Their opposition to the Iraq war prompted a major slide in U.S. support for France, which in turn had a big impact, according to the Economist:

Between February 2002 and March 2003, the percentage of Americans who had a favourable view of France fell from 83% (it's hard to remember it was ever so high) to just 35%. By 2005, that aversion to all things gallic was costing France about $5 billion-worth of exports...
