Dissent of The Day II

A reader writes:

Your post on the general election focused on the war and the economy, as do most pundits and analysts.

Lost, as almost always is in such analysis, is the Supreme Court.   We've seen in the last week alone what a difference it can make. The oldest members of the court are the liberal members. Obama, therefore, at best could maintain the status quo. McCain, however, could re-shape it as a 7-2 conservative Supreme Court that will last for decades and fundamentally change our country in more ways that affect the average person than even the Presidency.

The Supreme Court is where the biggest divide between the candidates lie.
