Exhuming Newman, Ctd
A reader writes:
There is an emphatic precedent. St. Robert Bellarmine (like Newman, a
violinist and esthete, voluminous writer and brilliant polemicist)
instructed that he be buried with his young, wildly attractive student
St. Aloysius Gonzaga (who, before his death, changed his name to Robert),
with whose body his remains to this day. They even moved Aloysius' body
to the Church of St. Ignatius to put them together in a place of
particular honor.
But of course their canonizations occurred before the current witch-hunts.
