Medical Records!
It has only taken seven weeks - but Palin says she'll release medical records, despite previous assurances from McCain staffers that she wouldn't. This is great news for transparency and she should be congratulated for it:
“The medical records — so be it. If
that will allow some curiosity seekers, perhaps, to have, oh one more
thing that they can either check the box off that they can find
something to criticize, perhaps, or find something to rest them assured
over, fine. I’m
healthy, I’m happy, I’ve had five kids — that’s going to be in the
medical records. Never been seriously ill or hurt — you’ll
see that in the medical records if they’re released.”
Nothing would make me happier than to get this issue out in the open and over with. So let's have the records and put all this "curiosity-seeking" behind us. Could she even get her doctor, Catherine Baldwin-Johnson, to return press calls as she did before September?
By the way, in traditional political discourse, "curiosity-seeking" is simply the normal transparency for any presidential or vice-presidential candidate. And remember: they could have done this weeks ago.
