The Party Of Limbaugh

This is not a good sign:

In skirmishes around the country in recent months, evangelicals and others who believe Republicans have been too timid in fighting abortion, gay marriage and illegal immigration have won election to the party's national committee, in preparation for a fight over the direction and leadership of the party.

And yet it is inevitable if the GOP loses. The bigger the defeat, if it happens, the more distilled will be the remnant. And the more extreme the policies. And so the cycle continues until denial breaks down. It took the Tories a decade. And they're still not back in power in Britain.
