The Netanyahu Nightmare
It's coming. And it may come wrapped in the lovely mantle of Avigdor Lieberman. Lieberman believes that the operation in Gaza was a wuss-out. He advocated turning all of Gaza into an Arab Hiroshima. He has also favored "population transfers" of Israeli Arabs. It is fair to say he is a fascist. And many Israelis seem to love him. My favorite Lieberman factoid:
Lieberman advocates "reducing the number of Arabs who are Israeli
citizens" through giving the Palestinian Authority Arab-Israeli towns
near the West Bank and having Arabs who remain Israeli citizens take
loyalty tests and recognize Israel as a Jewish State. Those who refuse
would be stripped of their citizenship, but could remain in Israel as
permanent residents.
Welcome to the Middle East, President Obama.
