Outing Iran, Ctd

Pitcher

A few years ago, when Bush and Iran were rattling sabers, I sent this link to Andrew, who published it as an alternative to what was being said in the news. It's a link to an Iranian women's softball league.  (If you want to see how Islam and modernity can mix, just look at how they wear the hejab.) Moreover, Iran is the only country in the Middle East, apart from Israel, that has an independent baseball league.

(The Dish is soliciting links to fascinating bits of Iranian culture on the web. If you know of any, please email andrew@theatlantic.com. And thanks to the readers who have already sent stuff in - we're still sorting through it all.)
