The Limits Of Waxman-Markey
If we do nothing, Americans may see little economic loss:
The actual economic drag projected for the United States in the 21st century is relatively modest: 3 percent or so.
The economic case for cap-and-trade is very hard to make. Which leaves the moral case - for helping those in developing countries and simply respecting the planet we were born on. But we know how successful moral cases are in the US Congress. Especially if they mean higher gas prices.
