The Promise Of A More Liberal Iran

In a word: world-changing. Persia could re-emerge as a critical force for stability and civilization in the Middle East. If it retains its Islamic identity, and rejoins the civilized nations of the world, it could be the critical turning point in the war against Jihadism. Michael Totten writes about this here. Bob Kaplan's words resonate:

"[A more liberal Iran would be] an incredibly attractive power. And then we will really see a greater Iran. Iranian influence will increase with a more moderate regime for cultural reasons. Because of the soft power of Persian culture.”

We're already seeing that. And that's why I'm hoping. Because the result of this could be a total game-changer for all of us.
