Polling The Speech

The insta-polls are not particularly helpful, but the polling now is worth watching. There's no doubt that the speech has jump-started a revival in Obama's approval numbers an increased support for reform by a measurable amount. This may not last, of course. But it's real enough for now. The AARP finding that support is now at 68 percent among the over-45 crowd is staggering if accurate. [Update: my precis here is not accurate: The AARP found that among those who had questions or concerns and watched the speech 68% became more supportive of the proposals.]
