Wilson's Crumbling Base
That outburst by Wilson brought in $100K overnight for his opponent. TPM runs the numbers:
In the 2008 election,
John McCain carried the district 54%-45%, and Wilson himself was
re-elected 53.7%-46.2% over Miller. This was a significant swing from
previous elections -- when Wilson would win with over 60% or even over
80% of the vote, and George W. Bush carried it 60%-40% in 2004.
