Accountability For Torture

A breakthrough in Britain in the Binyam Mohammed case - and a blow against the Obama administration's attempts to stop investigation of torture claims by invoking state secrets, and threatening to withhold intelligence-sharing from Britain if the courts published classified documents detailing the treatment of detainees. could readily be contended to be at the very least cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment.

(Correction: the torture was inflicted in May 2002, not 2001, as I originally reported via Ambers.)
