A Majority For Marriage In California

Support for legalizing civil marriage has now been at 51, 50 and 52 percent in the last three surveys, while opposition has been at 43, 45 and 40. The poll also showed a huge variation by age, with registered voters younger than 30 supporting same-sex marriage by roughly 3 to 1, while a majority of those 64 and older were opposed.
